Overturned School Bus on New Jersey’s Garden State Parkway
NEW JERSEY – An investigation is underway following an incident where a school bus overturned on the Garden State Parkway on Monday night.
Incident Details
The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway, near Montvale, just south of the James Gandolfini Service Area. The bus was en route from Lakewood to New York and was carrying a total of 31 individuals.
Injuries Reported
Out of the 31 occupants, 13 were hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the crash. While most injuries were not life-threatening, one individual is reported to be in serious condition and may have been trapped beneath the bus.
Official Statements
Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali shared details on social media regarding the incident, confirming the bus’s destination and the number of individuals involved. Fortunately, there have been no fatalities reported at this time.
Causation Investigation
As of now, authorities have not disclosed any information regarding the cause of the accident. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the overturning of the bus.
