Bill Murray Confronts Pushy Fan at Theater Event
Location: WASHINGTON – A recent incident involving acclaimed actor Bill Murray unfolded at AMC’s Lincoln Square theater in New York City.
Details of the Incident
On March 27, an encounter with an overly persistent fan escalated when Murray, who was at the theater for a Q&A session associated with his new film, reacted strongly. Video footage shows the actor abruptly halting his movement and addressing the fan directly.
In the clip, Murray asserts, “If you attack me like that again, I’ll step on your foot. Don’t do it. That’s a physical assault.” Following his comments, a security guard intervened to escort Murray away, while the fan expressed apologies.
Murray continued to insist, “Don’t do it again. You’re not big enough to do that,” highlighting the delicate balance between celebrity privacy and fan interactions.
Context of the Event
The altercation took place as Murray was attending a premiere-related Q&A for his upcoming film, The Friend. Eyewitness Anton Gerasimenko, who recorded the interaction, noted that Murray had previously declined requests for photographs and autographs, which may have contributed to the fan’s insistence on capturing a moment with the actor.
According to Gerasimenko, a failed initial attempt to photograph Murray was followed by a second attempt inside the theater, during which the fan unintentionally made contact with him.
