Published: March 5, 2023
Discovery of Suspicious Packages
In early March, law enforcement in Evansville, Indiana, were alerted to the presence of “suspicious packages” at a local parcel delivery facility that were suspected of containing illegal narcotics.
Methamphetamine Concealed in Snack Bags
On March 5, a detective from the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force investigated these packages and uncovered approximately 40 pounds of suspected methamphetamine hidden within bags labeled as Cheetos.
Arrest of Suspects
Following the discovery, detectives monitored the situation and witnessed a white van arrive at the facility. Two individuals were seen retrieving the suspicious packages. They were later identified as Natasha Renee Garner, 46, and Goldie Rodney Junior Flenor, 36, both residents of Los Angeles, California.
Police Pursuit and Arrest
When law enforcement attempted to intervene using marked vehicles, the suspects attempted to flee by accelerating their vehicle. The pursuit ended when their van collided with a marked SUV from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. Garner and Flenor were subsequently apprehended without further issue.
Legal Proceedings
A federal complaint has been filed against both individuals, charging them with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Following their arrest, they were transported to the Henderson, Kentucky, Detention Center.
