“When something’s that strict, it can’t, for me, become a whole lifestyle,” said Karn. “You have to go, ‘Well, you know what? I really would enjoy this piece of cake or a slice of pizza.’ Everything within moderation is key.” He added that while he values the benefits of a healthy diet, he warns against the extremes that can sometimes accompany such practices. “You can get in trouble with drinking too much water,” he noted.

Pursuit of Fitness

At 69 years of age, Karn incorporates Pilates into his fitness regimen, linking it to improved mobility on the golf course. “Pilates helps me a lot with golf, because you need to be able to have your hip flexors and knees working,” he explained, underscoring the necessity of routines in supporting overall health.
