Details of the Incident

At approximately 2 a.m., state police knocked on the door of the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg to alert the family of a fire, allegedly set by an arsonist. Emergency crews responded swiftly to the scene, which is located on North Front Street.

Fortunately, Shapiro, his wife, and their children were in separate parts of the home at the time, allowing them to evacuate without injury. Although firefighters extinguished the flames, significant damage occurred to parts of the historical residence.
