New York City, November 9, 2024 — The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is gearing up for its 98th annual celebration, and today, organizers unveiled this year’s lineup of floats and balloons. The event will feature six new floats, including a futuristic “Eco-City” float powered entirely by renewable energy and a tribute to classic New York films.
Beloved giant balloons such as Snoopy, Pikachu, and Baby Yoda will return, alongside new additions like characters from Encanto and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. “This year’s parade is a mix of tradition and innovation,” said Macy’s Parade Executive Producer Will Coss.
Rehearsals have already begun, with marching bands and performers preparing for the big day. Musical acts include Taylor Swift, BTS, and Broadway casts from hit shows, promising a spectacular display of talent.
The parade is expected to draw millions of spectators along the route and even more viewers on television. “This is the start of the holiday season for so many families,” said attendee Sarah McDonnell, who plans to watch the parade with her children.
Security measures will be in full force, with NYPD working closely with federal agencies to ensure a safe event. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, marching from Central Park West to Herald Square.
