New York City, July 27, 2024 — In just 30 minutes, all 50,000 spots for the 2024 New York City Marathon were filled, setting a new record for the iconic race. Runners from around the world eagerly secured their spots for the November 3 event, which promises to be one of the most competitive and celebrated marathons in recent memory.
The overwhelming demand reflects the marathon’s status as one of the most prestigious races globally, attracting elite athletes and amateur runners alike. This year’s event will feature several exciting changes, including the addition of an all-gender category and a new partnership with UNICEF to support global education initiatives.
NYRR President Paul Vincent expressed gratitude to the running community. “The response has been phenomenal, and we can’t wait to welcome runners from all walks of life to the greatest city in the world,” he said.
