Stardom at a Young Age

Montana Monroe Jenkins, a second grader from Montclair, New Jersey, is capturing the attention of the fashion industry and the internet alike. A recent Instagram video showcasing her runway walk has amassed nearly 12 million views and has even attracted a shoutout from renowned supermodel Naomi Campbell.

The Journey Begins

Montana, the youngest among five siblings, has shown a passion for fashion from a very early age. Her mother, Prudence, recalls the early signs of Montana’s interest: “It all started with a pair of Disney heels and a lot of hallway fashion shows at home,” she said. Prudence noted that getting her daughter to sleep was a challenge as Montana constantly wanted to change outfits and stage her own mini show.

As her enthusiasm grew, Montana requested to try modeling, leading to her first audition at Kings Plaza in Brooklyn. Although initially nervous, she managed to overcome her fears through deep breathing techniques.

Practicing Passion

“I treat [the hallway] like that. I feel like I’m having a show,” expressed Montana, reflecting on her early modeling practice at home. Her determination and confidence have now made her a rising star in the modeling community.

Words of Wisdom

When asked about her aspirations, Montana emphasized the importance of self-love and confidence, a mantra she shares from her mother: “I want all the kids to know what my mom tells me. She tells me, be confident. Love yourself. Take care of yourself, and it will all be [okay].”

Representation Matters

Prudence highlighted the significance of representation in their household, particularly noting the impact of Campbell’s recognition. “Representation matters in our home, and I think what Naomi represents… Montana is still in awe with all of this,” she remarked.

Montana is set to showcase her talent once again at Brooklyn Fashion Week on April 12, continuing her journey as a model and inspiring her growing fanbase.
