KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Los Angeles Dodgers capped off their three-game series against the Kansas City Royals with a commanding 5–1 win on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Kauffman Stadium. The game, delayed by over an hour due to rain, showcased the Dodgers’ depth and resilience as they clinched their sixth consecutive series victory.
Rookie left-hander Justin Wrobleski delivered a standout performance, pitching six shutout innings in relief. Entering the game in the second inning after opener Lou Trivino allowed an early run, Wrobleski stifled the Royals’ offense by conceding only three hits and one walk while striking out six batters. His effort not only stabilized the game but also earned him his fourth win of the season, improving his record to 4–2.
Offensively, the Dodgers were propelled by home runs from Enrique “Kiké” Hernández and Will Smith. Hernández’s two-run homer in the second inning turned the tide, giving Los Angeles a lead they would not relinquish. Smith added a solo shot in the sixth, extending the Dodgers’ advantage. Additional contributions came from Max Muncy, who hit an RBI double, and Miguel Rojas, who singled in a run during the seventh inning.
The Royals managed to score early, with Bobby Witt Jr. driving in Jonathan India in the first inning. However, Kansas City’s offense faltered thereafter, accumulating only five hits and striking out ten times against four Dodgers pitchers. Starting pitcher Kris Bubic struggled, allowing two runs over five innings, and the bullpen couldn’t contain the Dodgers’ bats.
This victory marked the Dodgers’ 12th win in their last 15 games, reinforcing their position atop the National League West with a 53–32 record. Conversely, the Royals have faced challenges, losing seven of their last eight games and posting a 1–12 record at home in June, bringing their season tally to 39–45.
The Dodgers will look to maintain their momentum as they continue their road trip, while the Royals aim to regroup and improve their standings in the American League Central.
