The High Line unveiled a stunning holiday-themed art exhibit today, transforming the elevated park into a winter wonderland of light and sound. Titled “Dreaming in Lights,” the exhibit features interactive installations, including glowing sculptures, immersive soundscapes, and a 50-foot tunnel of twinkling lights.
The exhibit, created by local and international artists, is designed to celebrate the magic of the holiday season while highlighting themes of community and connection. “The High Line is a canvas for creativity, and this exhibit is a gift to New Yorkers and visitors alike,” said Robert Hammond, co-founder of the High Line.
The event drew thousands on its opening day, with families, tourists, and art enthusiasts braving the cold to explore the installations. “It’s like stepping into a dream,” said Kelly Wong, a visitor from Flushing. “The lights are mesmerizing.”
Organizers emphasized the exhibit’s sustainability, with all installations powered by renewable energy. Guided tours and artist talks will be held throughout the exhibit’s run, which ends on January 7.
Local businesses near the High Line welcomed the surge in visitors, noting the positive economic impact of such cultural events. “It’s great to see so many people enjoying this part of the city,” said Alex Rivera, owner of a nearby café.
