New York City is set to host the inaugural Global Tech Leaders Summit next week, city officials announced today. The event, which will take place at the Javits Center, aims to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and academics to discuss the future of technology, innovation, and governance.
Mayor Eric Adams, who championed the event, said it reflects New York’s status as a global hub for innovation. “From AI to green tech, New York City is where the world’s brightest minds come to build the future,” Adams said at a press briefing.
Keynote speakers include Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla; Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet; and Frances Haugen, a whistleblower and advocate for ethical technology. Topics on the agenda include AI regulation, cybersecurity, and the role of tech in combating climate change.
The event will feature live demonstrations of emerging technologies, including autonomous vehicles, renewable energy solutions, and medical robotics. Workshops and networking sessions will also be available for startups and investors.
Tickets sold out within hours of the announcement, and the city has arranged for live streams of major panels to accommodate broader audiences. Organizers plan to make the summit an annual event, further cementing NYC’s role as a leader in the tech industry.
