New York City, July 19, 2024 — Central Park was alive with the sounds of music last night as the SummerStage series continued with a sold-out concert featuring international artists. The event brought together performers from Africa, Latin America, and Asia, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of global music.

Headliners included Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy, Colombian singer Karol G, and South Korean indie band Hyukoh, who performed to an enthusiastic crowd of over 5,000. “This is what New York is all about—celebrating every culture and every sound,” said SummerStage Artistic Director Elena Chavez.

The free concert, part of the city’s flagship outdoor festival, also featured food trucks offering international cuisine and pop-up art installations highlighting themes of unity and cultural exchange. Attendees described the event as a highlight of the summer. “It’s incredible to experience so much talent in one place,” said attendee Raj Patel.

SummerStage, which runs through August, will host over 100 performances in parks across the city, ranging from jazz and hip-hop to ballet and Shakespeare. The program is funded by the City Parks Foundation and private sponsors, ensuring that New Yorkers can enjoy world-class entertainment at no cost.

The next major SummerStage event will feature a tribute to the music of New York, with local legends like Nas and Alicia Keys slated to perform. Concertgoers are already lining up for tickets to what promises to be another unforgettable night.
