New York City, November 25, 2024 — New Yorkers and tourists packed the city’s ice rinks tonight for a festive Thanksgiving Eve tradition. Iconic venues like Rockefeller Center, Bryant Park, and Wollman Rink in Central Park were filled with skaters enjoying the holiday spirit.

At Rockefeller Center, the rink sparkled under the towering Christmas tree, which will officially be lit next week. Couples, families, and friends glided across the ice, many capturing the moment for social media. “Skating here feels like stepping into a holiday movie,” said tourist Lisa Harper, visiting from Chicago.

Bryant Park’s Winter Village offered an added attraction with its surrounding holiday market, where skaters could warm up with hot chocolate and seasonal treats. Wollman Rink, with its picturesque Central Park setting, provided a serene escape from the bustling city.

Ice rink operators reported strong attendance, with many sessions selling out in advance. “The holiday season is off to a great start,” said Bryant Park manager Tony Alvarez. “We’re thrilled to see so many people enjoying this tradition.”

As Thanksgiving approaches, the city is brimming with anticipation for a weekend filled with parades, celebrations, and family gatherings.
