The Times Square Alliance revealed the design of the 2024 New Year’s Eve Ball today, a dazzling creation featuring 2,688 Waterford crystal panels in a theme called “Harmony.” The design represents unity and connection, with intricate patterns symbolizing the ties that bind people together.
The ball, which weighs nearly 12,000 pounds and measures 12 feet in diameter, will be illuminated by 32,256 LEDs during the iconic countdown to midnight. “This year’s design reflects the resilience and togetherness of New Yorkers,” said Times Square Alliance President Tom Harris.
The event is expected to draw over 1 million attendees to Times Square and millions more watching worldwide. Security preparations are already underway, with the NYPD implementing heightened measures to ensure safety.
